Depression
Sadness is a natural response to life’s challenges. However, when these feelings become persistent, intense, and begin to interfere with daily life, they may indicate depression. Depression is a mood disorder characterised by ongoing feelings of sadness, emptiness, or hopelessness that can affect mood, energy, concentration, and relationships. Individuals may lose interest in activities they once enjoyed, experience changes in sleep or appetite, feel easily irritable or fatigued, or struggle with feelings of worthlessness.
How can we help?
Supporting someone through depression can feel overwhelming for both the individual and their family. Our team provides personalised and compassionate support to help individuals regain confidence, emotional balance, and a sense of enjoyment in daily life. We use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and DNA-V to help individuals better understand their emotions, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and develop practical coping strategies.
Therapy also focuses on helping individuals gradually reconnect with meaningful activities, relationships, and daily routines. Sessions take place in a safe and supportive environment where individuals can express themselves openly. We also work closely with families and caregivers, providing guidance and practical strategies to support progress across home, school, and everyday life. Our goal is to support individuals in building resilience, improving emotional well-being, and developing the confidence to navigate life’s challenges.
