Clinical Experience

Yvonne holds a Master of Sciences in Psychology (Clinical), and has devoted her career to understanding and championing neurodiversity in children, adolescents and young adults. She has garnered 19 years of experience working as a Psychologist and Senior Case Manager with a wide spectrum of children with special needs, across a range of various ages, levels of functioning, diagnoses, and settings. Her focus on evidence-based practices, combined with her clinical expertise reflects her passion for helping young minds flourish.

She is a compassionate and experienced psychologist specializing in working with neurodiverse children, adolescents and young adults. She is dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive space where every young individual can thrive. She believes that everyone has the ability to make positive changes in their lives and that therapy can be a powerful tool in achieving this. She approaches each person and each problem with empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental attitude, and works collaboratively with clients to set goals and develop a treatment plan that is tailored to their unique needs and circumstances. Her ultimate goal is to empower clients to achieve greater self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-compassion, which can lead to greater satisfaction and fulfillment in their lives.

Therapy Approach

She adopts a unique integrated approach that is tailored to each client , mainly utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), DNA-V, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She is also professionally certified in CBT, member of Psi Chi, Singapore Psychological Society (SPS), and Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI). Currently, she’s in the process of becoming a registered psychologist with SPS.

Her therapeutic philosophy revolves around empowerment and resilience. She believes that every child and/adolescent has the capacity for growth and positive change. Her client-centered approach ensures that each person feels heard, understood, and supported throughout their therapeutic journey, recognizing and building upon the unique strengths of each child. Her goal is to foster a sense of self-esteem and empowerment in neurodiverse children and adolescents, helping them navigate the challenges they may face with resilience.

  • Neurodevelopmental Disorders: Yvonne specializes in working with children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and learning disabilities. She is committed to creating an inclusive space that celebrates neurodiversity.
  • Individual Counseling: She specializes in individual therapy, helping clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, anger management, bullying, self confidence and esteem, selective mutism, social skills, and life transitions. Her approach is collaborative and tailored to each client’s unique needs.
  • Social Skills Development: She focuses on enhancing social skills and emotional regulation, empowering neurodiverse individuals to navigate social interactions with confidence and resilience.
